Join us at Satyam on Friday evenings starting November 24th for a 3 part talk with Gabriela on the sister sciences of Yoga, Ayurveda and Jyotsha (Vedic Astrology). Gabriela will explain how everything is connected, from the macro to the micro; as above so below. Through talks and stories Gabriela will weave in threads of Dharma, Karma and Sadhana, explaining in depth how these principles create connections between it all.
Friday 24th November: Vedic Astrology
Learn about how the luminaries and planets in the sky, have been used for millennia, and are still used today as a primary tool for mapping the ebb and flow of karma and the movement of time. Jyotisha is translated as “The Knowledge of Light” as the sacred science and art of illuminating karmic patterns and tendencies. It is a living tradition of divination passed on from teacher to student orally, with a huge history of over 5000 years. It shines Light over our Karma, and in this talk the concept of Karma will be explored in depth.
Friday 1st December: Ayurveda
Ayurveda is the holistic system of Healing and Prevention of disease of India. Our body is the means through which we experience life, and Ayurveda teaches us how to take care of our body, mind and heart, while recognising that all bodies are unique. The way we interact and engage with our environment, be it our body or the outer world, will determine our state of health and well-being. Ayurveda wants us to have a long, healthy and happy life so that we can walk on the path of spiritual development with ease, without being dragged back by ill-health of the body and mind, and it teaches us about our unique constitution – the way we are built- which will influence the way we engage with life. In this talk the concept of Dharma will be explored in depth.
Friday 8th December: Yoga and Sādhanā
Gabriela will talk about Yoga as path for spiritual transformation through knowledge, reflection, action and devotion that leads to self-discovery. Yoga is at its core a process and journey of discovering the Self. Jyotisha offers us knowledge of our tendencies and patterns and it used for timing moments of opportunity or down-fall. Ayurveda offers us the knowledge of how to keep our bodies healthy and full of vitality so that we can walk on the path of spiritual development through Yoga as Sādhanā so we can flow easily and gently through life, learning how to move with the currents that surround us.
